Commencement Ceremony Details
Students must check in by 8:15 a.m. on Mansion Lane on the east side of Building 1 - Go to a check-in table where you will be given a card on which you will clearly write your name, address, and the phonetic spelling of your name. This card will be used during the ceremony to announce your name and by the photographers to mail you your proofs.
Student Line-up - All students shall line-up with faculty members by major/concentration to prepare for the processional.
The Processional will begin at 9 a.m. sharp - By then, you must be in line and have completed your name card.
End of Ceremony - At the end of the ceremony, there will be a short recessional of the platform party. Students will then be free to join family members and friends. The ceremony is expected to end at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Photographs - Professional photographers will take your photo before you enter the stage and as you receive your diploma. Photos can also be taken with your family and friends at other locations after the ceremony.
Seating for family and friends is on a "first-come" basis - Allow 30-45 minutes to park and proceed to the Commencement location. Parking will be available in parking lots C, D, F, J and M. For reference, you can print out a map (PDF) as well as directions to campus for visitors. Refreshments will be sold at the Campus Center Marketplace . Please make sure to turn off your cell phones during the ceremony. Restrooms: Bldg. 1, 5, and the M arketplace . Arrange prior to the ceremony where you will meet your family and friends after it ends.
Attention: graduates and guests with disabilities - If you have a disabled permit in your car, please ask to be directed to the disabled parking on Olive Lane . From there you can obtain a ride on the university cart to the line-up area or to the disabled guest seating area. Notify the Disability Resource Center prior to the day of Commencement regarding your plans to attend the ceremony by calling (909) 869-3333.
