- Accounting Professor John E. Karayan was named Interim Director of Planned Giving. Polycentric dedicated a feature to Dr. Karayan the week of July 9, 2006.
- Katrina Holmberg, Cal Poly Pomona's tennis star who just received her bachelor's degree from the College of Business Administration, was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Female Scholar-Athlete of the year. Polycentric, Week of June 18, 2006.
- 2006 CBA Commencement and Valedictorian Terry Prichard were featured in "Bronco stampede," San Gabriel Valley Tribune (June 11, 2006). 2006 CBA Commencement photos can also be viewed on the university website.
- Rock Your Future (IBM 299) students organized a school supply drive on campus for Uganda children as featured in The Poly Post (May 31, 2006) "Class sends supplies to Uganda."
- UBSS, its advisor Professor James Bassett, and Dr. Lynn Turner were recognized at the first campus-wide annual Bronco Student Life Awards ceremony. The Poly Post (May 16, 2006) "Campus groups award advisors"
- Cal Poly Pomona chapter of SIFE won the regional competition and participated in the nationals. Polycentric (Week of May 21, 2006) "Free enterprise student team heads to national competition"
- In May 2006, CIS professor Dan Manson was interviewed by CNN Headline News/Comcast Local Edition on computer security issues and ways of safely surfing the Internet. - 2006 ASI President/VP elections this year featured 2 competing teams of CBA students. The election winners are FRL students Arno Keshishian (ASI President) and Matthew Sanford (ASI VP). The newly elected ASI Senate includes Jonathan Carr, FRL (CBA senator) and Amir Mertaban, IBM (senator at-large). - TOM Professor Rama Ramalingam assisted the victims of 2004-05 natural disasters in South Asia. The Poly Post (April 25, 2006) "Professor gives money, time to victims."
- IBM Professors Susan Peters and Jay Swartz were interviewed on TV stations attempts to increase spring ratings by The Poly Post (April 25, 2006) "Networks prepare to 'sweep' the nation."
- 2006 Wireless Telecommunication Symposium hosted by the CBA's CIS department was announced in Polycentric and the local newspapers. Polycentric (Week of April 9, 2006), Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (April 19, 2006), San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star News, Whittier Daily News (April 23, 2006) "Cal Poly Pomona to host wireless seminar."
- In "Business students spend spring break teaching second–graders in Mexico about global markets," Polycentric featured SIFE's innovative project and materials. (Week of April 2, 2006). Panorama, the university's quarterly magazine, also included an article about this project in its Summer 2006 issue.
- National Contract Management Association awarded Cal Poly Pomona with the distinction of the First National Student Chapter, as announced in Polycentric, week of April 2, 2006. The Summer 2006 issue of Panorama, a quarterly university magazine, included a photo of the NCMA leadeship with Dean Klock, FRL Chair Javad Kashefi, FRL Professor John Wyatt, and FRL students.
- During the week of April 2, 2006, Polycentric announced the 2-day information assurance workshop spearheaded by CIS Professor Dan Manson. This workshop is consistent with the campus's leadership position in information security education.
- Our Mock Trial team was granted the American Mock Trial Association's Spirit Award and placed 8th nationally. The team was composed largely for FRL students and was coached by a CBA alum. - PIHRA hosted the CSU-wide HRGames which attracted nearly 160 participants and student teams from around the state. Polycentric (Week of March 5, 2006) "CBA HR Students Host CSU-Wide Competition"
- In the "Connecting the Academy to the Community" in the spring 2006 issue of Get Engaged!, Center for Community Service Learning Newsletter, CIS Professor Larisa Preiser described her experience in running a service learning course. Professor Preiser's Interactive Web Development Project was also profiled by The Poly Post among the service learning projects presented by the campus's SL center. - MHR/EBZ senior Jonathan Boyd was the captain of the winning basketball team in 2005-06. His profile "Broncos' Boyd leading by example' appeared in The Poly Post on January 31, 2006.
- Dion Cook, an MHR major and a rising Cal Poly Pomona basketball star, was profiled by The Poly Post on January 24, 2006, and again on February 28, 2006.
- Three CIS students won the annual Security Video Contest sponsored by EDUCAUSE and the National Cyber Security Alliance. The story was covered by InformationWeek (February 2006) and by The Poly Post (February 7, 2006). The winning videos were announced and uploaded on the EDUCAUSE website (January 19, 2006).
- The first CBA Faculty Fellow Professor Henry Co, TOM, was profiled in Polycentric (Week of January 1, 2006) and in the Winter 2006 issue of PolyTrends, the university's quarterly magazine.
