Welcome to our website and the opportunity to learn more about the College of Business Administration and Cal Poly Pomona.
Let me start by providing a few facts about our College. The College of Business Administration (CBA) serves approximately 4,700 students in six departments with over 100 outstanding faculty members who hold advanced degrees from a broad number of world-class universities. In 2005, after passing a rigorous examination, our College was re-accredited for another five years by AACSB International – a hallmark of excellence in business education. This is a very prestigious recognition for Cal Poly Pomona as less than one third of nation's four-year business programs are currently accredited by AACSB International.
The primary goal of the College of Business Administration is to provide a quality polytechnic education to business students. What is a polytechnic education? It is a highly interactive form of education. It is business education driven by case studies, simulations, internships in real business, class projects that involve real world business problems, and is also performance-based with a strong focus on execution. Our students not only learn to apply technical skills but also how to communicate issues and solutions. One common theme seen in the comments of faculty, students, alumni and employers is that our focused polytechnic business education gives students great technical and communication skills. We also instill in our students the critical confidence and attitudes equally important for success once they graduate.
Our unique polytechnic education opens doors to opportunities, growth and excellence for thousands of young people - many of whom are the first in their family to pursue a college education. We believe that the unique contribution we make to the education and personal development of these young people is a critical factor in the growth of Southern California’s many diverse markets and communities.
I wish you success in learning about our College and hope you will consider becoming a part of our community of leaders.
Sincerely yours,
David R. Klock, Dean
