California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, is a comprehensive, co-educational university offering degrees in 80 undergraduate, graduate and credential programs.
Located on 1,438 acres of rolling hills in suburban Los Angeles County, the campus is one of the largest in the California State University (CSU) system. Founded in 1938, facilities on campus represent a blending of Spanish ranch architecture and modern classroom and laboratory buildings amidst greenscape and trees of the broadest variety.
Cal Poly Pomona has six academic colleges: Agriculture, Arts, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Design, and Science; plus Centers for Hospitality Management. and Regenerative Studies. Fifty percent of the baccalaureate degrees, however, are awarded to students in the Colleges of Business Administration and Engineering.
The College of Business Administration is comprised of six departments: Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Real Estate and Law; International Business and Marketing, Management and Human Resources, and Operations Management. All are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and the College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB, the most prestigious business education accrediting body in the United States. . Many departments have won national recognition for outstanding programs.
Cal Poly Pomona is identified world-wide for its Arabian horse shows, begun in 1926 by breakfast cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg, and for its annual participation, along with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
The University's noted "learn by doing" philosophy is a credo of the College of Business Administration that serves to direct instruction towards practical application of learning.
