Those who wish to specialize in a particular
area of curriculum may choose the Career Master of Business Administration program. With the help of a
graduate business advisor and emphasis faculty advisor, students in this program select courses appropriate
to their career goals. In some instances, the program may be unique to individual students. In other cases,
students may decide to select coursework already developed for one of the following popular emphases.
Several other standardized emphases are being explored for inclusion in the Career MBA. For students whose
interests do not fall within one of the categories listed here, they may work with a graduate faculty advisor
and the graduate director to develop an emphasis specifically tailored to meet their individual needs.
In general, students who select a Career MBA program have three to five years of business experience. The
program consists of 48 quarter units; 24 units of required core courses, 20 units of emphasis courses and
four units of Master's Thesis or Project.
